There is currently an imbalance in the Belgian control area which cannot be covered by the regulation capacity at our disposal in the control area.
In this context, and according to the activation sequence defined in the Mechanism for managing the balance of the Elia control area, Elia has activated the emergency reserve power contracted with neighbouring TSOs.

Activation will be valued in the balancing tariff as follows:

the activation price during upward activation;
the minimum between -€100/MWh and the activation price during downward activation;
a fixed amount equal to -€100/MWh if this emergency reserve power is unavailable
